Position Highlights

The Department of Immunobiology is seeking highly motivated applicants for a Postdoctoral Research Associate I position to be co-mentored by Drs. Koenraad Van Doorslaer and Michael Kuhns. This challenging position requires a high level of enthusiasm, dedication, and drive for applicants interested in conducting evolutionary guided research into the molecular mechanisms of T-Cell activation and cell fate decisions (pubmed search: Van Doorslaer K, Kuhns MS).

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent experiments and computational analysis, evaluate the data, and keep appropriate records of all research activities.
  • Read the literature, participate in scientific discussions with other members of the lab, and attend mandatory lab meetings.
  • Perform assigned lab duties to assist in the maintenance of stock reagents or the general operation of the lab, and various other duties or projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, immunology, virology, or related fields.
  • Experience with modern molecular biology, biochemistry, and tissue culture techniques.
  • Experience working with basic Immunological concepts.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with live cell fluorescent imaging.
  • Experience working with Python, R, and/or command line applications.
