The Arizona Student Unions is looking for a talented Barista (Culinary and Food Services Attendant I) to join our team at Starbucks at the Global District.

Select your favorite coffee beverages along with a pastry or panini. Also featuring nitro brew beverages. Located across from Core+.

YOUR ROLE

As a barista, you'll play a key role in contributing to the success of Starbucks and the University of Arizona by providing legendary customer service to all customers. This position is essential in creating the Starbucks Experience by delivering prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. You will model and act in accordance with Starbucks' guiding principles as well as the University of Arizona's inclusion and equity practices. By embracing and promoting the values of both Starbucks and the University of Arizona, you will help create a vibrant and inclusive community, ensuring every customer has a memorable and enjoyable experience.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Upholds Starbucks standards by providing consistently excellent customer experiences and superb product quality. Deliver prompt, efficient, and friendly service. Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of Starbucks and The University of Arizona.
  • Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team.
  • Prepare and serve high-quality beverages consistently by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Ensure all food and beverages are presented according to standards. Keeps work area clean, maintains temperature control foods. Sets up and breaks down all production areas.
  • Prevents cross contamination of food products. Label, date and store components correctly. Clean drains, walls, sinks, fridges. Maintains equipment and sanitation standards.
  • Communicates information to manager. Participate in teamwork and demonstrate a positive and cooperative attitude.
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow operational policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, techniques and standards.
  • Skill in using cleaning products and equipment.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, this role requires availability to work weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • The position involves standing for long periods, as well as frequent use of hands and arms to handle equipment and products.
  • Ability to lift 40lbs.

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
