Your Job

Molex is seeking an Data Science Manager to join our team. This role works closely with cross-functional groups in our data and analytics organization including Research & Analytics and Enterprise Data Management. You will lead a team of data and analytics engineers in building and deploying models to improve internal processes and generate data-driven insights. This role will be instrumental in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, leveraging the power of AI and advanced analytics to drive innovation and efficiency.

A successful candidate for this role, will excel at collaborating closely with multiple domains, leading the team to define internal data and AI strategies alongside data analytics partners, identifying process opportunities, defining strategic plans and facilitating problem-solving activities across a global business. This role will require a mindset of excellence and sense of urgency to orchestrate efforts and motivate the team to address opportunities at speed and scale.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and manage a team of data scientists and data engineers with diverse skillsets. Foster collaboration within the team and ensure effective communication.
  • Partner with various analytics and business partners to understand their challenges and opportunities. Translate these needs into actionable data science projects for the team.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of AI models, ensuring they meet business requirements and deliver value.
  • Utilize LEAN and Agile principles to manage data science projects, focusing on iterative development, rapid prototyping, and efficient resource allocation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with data and digital teams across the organization.
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of AI models, making adjustments as needed. Keen attention to detail.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science and AI, and identify opportunities to leverage new technologies within the organization.
  • Develop cross functional business acumen including areas such as Finance, Sales, Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
  • Employ strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • A bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics or a related experience in analytics and data technologies with increasing responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of data science concepts, machine learning algorithms, and their application to solve business problems.
  • Hands on experience in developing Advanced Analytics solutions
  1. Coding and statistical modeling skills in Python
  2. Data science libraries (such as NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Shiny/streamlit, scikit-learn, etc.)
  3. Proficiency with SQL, NoSQL; Familiarity with Graph DB
  4. Experience with Snowflake or AWS cloud platform
  5. Familiarity with one or more of AI platforms (C3.ai, Salesforce Einstein)
  6. Familiarity with data privacy and security regulations (GDPR, CCPA)
  7. Understanding of the data/analytics problem/solution space and vendor landscape.
  8. Experience leading an analytics/ data science program and working a project from initial scoping, delivering a minimum viable product and deployment at-scale.
  9. Experience working with data pipelines, data cleaning techniques, and best practices for data governance.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
  • Experience in project management and the ability to track progress and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of AI models and their impact on business goals.
  • Excellent written, verbal and listening skills for clear and concise communication, documentation, and project management.
  • Demonstrates strong servant leadership attributes.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Master's Degree in a related field of study
  • Familiarity with core business functions, underlying processes and KPIs.
  • Experience of working within a Global Business Services model and DevOps tools
  • Familiarity with Kanban boards, Value Stream Mapping, and A/B testing.
