Molex is seeking a highly motivated Outdoor Enclosure Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience transforming design inputs and specifications for molded outdoor enclosures from our product management team into detailed 3D model designs that are manufacturable and meet industry requirements.

What You Will Do

  • Design and develop molded outdoor enclosures based on provided specifications and input from product management, field engineering, and customers.
  • Oversee creation of detailed engineering drawings and documentation for production.
  • Collaborate with product managers to ensure designs meet market requirements and standards.
  • Conduct design reviews and implement feedback to improve product designs.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to outdoor enclosures.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety and environmental regulations.
  • Provide technical support during the manufacturing process to address any design-related issues.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in the design of molded outdoor enclosures or similar harsh environment plastic parts.
  • Proficiency in parametric modeling (preferably NX) for design and drawing creation.
  • Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes for outdoor enclosures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to outdoor enclosures.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in the consumer electronics, industrial or telecommunications industry.
  • Familiarity with environmental testing and certification processes for outdoor products.
