Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Process Control Engineering Leader to grow the process control capability within the Halsey Mill in Halsey, Oregon. The desired candidate must be passionate about developing talent, demonstrate strategic & economic thinking, possess good problem-solving skills, and enjoy collaborating across the organization. What You Will Do

  • Lead a group of Process Control Engineers to improve operations.
  • Support process operations by troubleshooting installed systems to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of these systems.
  • Support the project engineering group in planning and installing new process equipment and process control systems.
  • Develop or recommend process control modifications that lead to improved safety, reduced costs, and improved efficiency.
  • Partner with corporate teams to implement new technologies that support advanced manufacturing. Act as a project resource in the installation of new instrumentation or control/automation systems.
  • Track metrics to ensure control systems are delivering expected results or to discover areas for improvement
  • Utilize organization skills and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Share department on-call responsibility.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Five (5) or more years' experience with process control systems (DCS, PLCs, HMIs, drives, control valves, industrial instrumentation for positioning, flow, level, pressure, & temperature etc.)
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Read, interpret, and develop control documentation and schematics.
  • Knowledge of standard MS office suite.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering OR Paper Science
  • Experience supporting process control systems in the Pulp and Paper industry.
  • Engineering and application experience with Emerson Delta V
  • Experience with VFD drives and Allen Bradley PLCs / Rockwell products
  • Demonstrated success leading support staff in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with control system network topology (i.e. Ethernet, ControlNet, firewalls, and DH+)
