Georgia-Pacific Consumer Manufacturing Group is seeking qualified professionals to be considered for our Reliability Engineer role supporting the Consumer Products Group Operations located in Muskogee, OK. The Muskogee facility uses integrated technology to manufacture tissue, paper towel and napkin products in a progressive production environment.

The Reliability Engineer at Georgia Pacific is a vital role and will work closely with the operations team, maintenance teams, and equipment manufacturers to develop and execute strategies that increase equipment reliability on wide range of manufacturing processes across the entire site. This position will utilize a core set of principles to drive continuous improvement in safety and performance. What You Will Do

  • Embrace influential leadership to support the organization while advancing our Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture
  • Develop, implement, and support preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for new and existing equipment
  • Integrates maintenance technologies into predictive, preventive, and condition-based maintenance programs
  • Participate and lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) efforts to identify root causes of complex and/or repetitive problems and put in place executable corrective actions
  • Reduce the frequency and/or impact of major failures and provide technical expertise and support to resolve reliability-related issues
  • Provides engineering support for capital and expense projects including reviewing plans for new equipment and contribute to the Design for Reliability process by validating reliability and maintainability of the systems
  • Provides engineering support and leadership to drive continuous improvement to Maintenance and Operations reliability tools or programs
  • Work with other Reliability Engineers to share knowledge, gain expertise in the development of mill wide reliability strategies, and actively participate in design and implementation of Asset Improvement Strategies for systems to improve production and uptime
  • Responsible for validating and tracking of financial savings or cost avoidance

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • One of the following:
    • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Technology, or Paper Science
    • At least (2-5) years of Reliability OR Mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing/industrial or military environment
  • Experience with Reliability Improvement tools (Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), KPIs, Six Sigma experience or certification
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, predictive and preventive maintenance strategies, and condition-based monitoring
  • Problem-solving abilities to develop effective solutions for equipment reliability issues

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Pulp and Paper industry experience
  • Experience leading an Engineering or Reliability Team
  • Ability to analyze data and trends to identify reliability issues and improvement opportunities
  • Experience using SAP CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
