The Principal Enterprise Analyst, Power BI will work closely with internal business customers to understand Data and Analytical needs and create beautiful dashboards that provide insight into business problems. You will work across all facets of the business and technology teams. You will raise the bar of what a great Power BI platform looks like, creating thoughtful, visually appealing and fully integrated solutions. You will also coordinate and perform quality assurance testing to ensure high quality results and customer satisfaction.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be an order shaper, a self-driven problem solver, an accountable owner who meets with business users, conceptually understands their objectives and brings ideas and recommendations to them utilizing your creativity and curiosity .
  • Utilize your expertise to advise and train Power BI Champions within the business teams, enabling them to self-serve within the Power BI environment
  • Perform complex data analysis, uncover data quality issues and develop solutions to address them
  • Bring a total service mindset, responsible for all facets of the Power BI platform
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
  • Understanding and curiosity of corporate business processes (Marketing, Sales, Ops, Accounting, etc.) and business needs and translate that understanding into insightful Dashboards with minimal oversight
  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define/document business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems and process issues
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Power BI solutions to ensure optimal performance and stability.
  • Make recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of existing reporting capabilities
  • Collaborate in the planning, design, testing, and deployment of new objects, measures, dimension attributes, and cubes
  • Facilitate Employee Self Service solutions for end users to easily find answers to ad-hoc questions through ease of use and training solutions.
  • Create process flows, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmers
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth quality assurance tests, including end-user reviews, for new items and modifications to existing items
  • Provide training and technical support to end-users on how to use Power BI dashboards and reports effectively.
  • Stay current with new Power BI features, functionalities, and trends, and continuously learn and expand your knowledge in the field.
  • Work within an Agile methodology to design, develop, test, and implement reporting features and functions to include system enhancements.
  • Document, review and improve existing systems while collaborating with teams to integrate new systems and needs.

Minimum Requirements

  • 7+ years of SQL experience for data analysis, profiling and understanding
  • 7+ years experience in business analysis and gathering requirements in Data Analytics/Business Intelligence
  • 7+ years experience in dashboarding through Power BI
  • 7+ years experience building quality reports and visualizations with basic knowledge of database design and data modeling utilizing DAX
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Skills/ Knowledge

  • Proficient in Microsoft Power BI
  • Practical knowledge of source and destination data mapping, ETL definition, data-oriented business rule definition
  • Experience building quality reports and visualizations with basic knowledge of database design and data modeling
  • Experience translating requirements into test scripts as well as executing test scripts
  • Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS
  • Knowledge of ML\AI withing powerbi a plus
  • Microsoft Excel Power Pivot
  • Knowledge of source control systems (GIT)
