Koch Capabilities, LLC is seeking an experienced and dynamic litigation attorney to lead a variety of litigation and arbitration matters across the Koch companies. In this role, you will be managing complex and interesting legal issues across a diverse set of businesses.

The position would sit in Wichita, Kansas. This role is eligible for relocation assistance.

Our Team

You will join a team of energetic and contribution-motivated in-house litigators who lead complex litigation and arbitration matters and who provide strategic advice and solutions relating to risk. The team consists of experienced attorneys who think creatively to drive litigation matters to successful outcomes. Our attorneys are effective communicators who achieve results that are aligned with business objectives - by collaborating with others internally and externally, leveraging technology and data analytics, and applying economic thinking to assess cases.

What You Will Do

  • Lead significant litigation and arbitration matters for a variety of Koch companies. This includes:
    • Evaluating facts and relevant law to provide strategic advice;
    • Actively participating in litigation and arbitration matters;
    • Identifying, engaging, actively managing, and collaborating with outside counsel as well as seeking out best knowledge inside and outside of the organization; and
    • Evaluating and communicating legal rights, obligations, risks, potential outcomes, and strategies to achieve the best results.
  • Work with fellow litigators, business attorneys, commercial personnel, and leadership on a daily basis to evaluate and advise on potential disputes.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Complex litigation experience in a law firm or in-house setting
  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Active member of a state bar and in good standing

What Will Put You Ahead

  • 5+ years of complex litigation experience in a law firm or in-house setting
  • Experience as first or second chair in trial and significant dispositive motion practice
  • Experience managing outside counsel, as well as expert consultants and witnesses.
  • Eager to utilize technology and data-driven insights to transform the legal team's operating/delivery model and improve our decision-making.
