Your Job

DEPCOM Power, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, seeks an Environmental Specialist for the HSSE team to support utility-scale solar projects (10-200M). This role requires 95% travel in Virginia, offers per diem pay, and monthly home trips. You will ensure site compliance with permits. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized, and adaptable to dynamic environments. VISA sponsorship is not available for this role.

Our Team

DEPCOM's Project Delivery Organization manages turnkey PV and BESS plants with substations and transmission lines, utilizing key vendor partnerships and coordinating with utilities nationwide. The Environmental Compliance team within HSSE supports DEPCOM from pre-construction to closeout, ensuring projects adhere to our principles of Stewardship and Compliance.

What You Will Do

  • Educate and ensure compliance with the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plan (SPCC) requirements.
  • Conduct environmental compliance training and provide necessary educational materials.
  • Perform facility regulatory audits, ensuring SWPPP inspections and remediations meet permit requirements.
  • Participate in HSSE training events.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Construction teams to create environmentally compliant project solutions.
  • Develop processes that drive consistent, profitable actions and behaviors.
  • Foster a respectful and valued environment, especially regarding Safety and Environmental Compliance.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in environmental compliance, policy, and regulatory standards.
  • Proficient in document control and organization.
  • Ability to comprehend technical reports and inspection data.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel to project locations.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in the solar industry.
  • Certified Stormwater Inspector or equivalent.
  • Coursework in Environmental, Engineering, Sustainability, Policy, or Construction Management.
  • Ability to read Civil Engineering drawings.

For this role, we anticipate paying $65,000- $85,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
