Molex's TIS (Transportation and Innovative Solutions) business unit is a segment within Molex that specializes in providing connectivity solutions and technologies tailored for the transportation and industrial sectors. This unit focuses on developing and delivering a wide array of products and solutions that cater to the specific needs of these industries. These solutions often involve connectors, cables, components, and integrated systems that address connectivity, data transmission, and control system requirements in transportation (such as automotive and commercial vehicles) and various industrial applications.

We are looking for a motivated Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer to join our Manufacturing Team at Molex's Lincoln, Nebraska facility. In this collaborative, team-based role, you will identify and implement breakthrough improvement opportunities across the campus. You will lead problem-solving initiatives and projects that support the transportation solutions division, aiming to enhance efficiency and eliminate waste.

What You Will Do

Investigate and lead teams to drive break through improvement across the campus

    • Work with production, quality, engineering, facilities and others to identify & implement improvements
    • Utilize a structured approach to problem-solving & process improvement (Six Sigma, Shainin Red X, Kepner-Tregoe...)
    • Drive changes & improvements to processes to increase efficiency, reduce cost of poor quality, and improve effectiveness
    • Conduct cost analysis & savings to determine return on investment for projects
    • Present project status & completion to stakeholders in a formal setting
    • Analytically, data-driven and problem-solving mindset

Support other teams in pursuing improvements & cost reductions across the campus

    • Assist and be a resource to functional departments in identifying, planning, and implementing efficiency improvement & cost reductions
    • Mentor others on the use of tools and methodologies
    • Coach teams on problem solving tools to support improvements

* Travel as required - less than 10% both domestic and international

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience owning and driving continuous improvement results in a manufacturing setting.
  • Project management experience

What Puts You Ahead

  • Master's degree in engineering, quality, STEM, or management field. Advanced degree or certification.
  • Experience in statistics, CAD/CAM, advanced Excel, Minitab, SPC, Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, TPM, Visual Factory, Standard Work, SMED, etc...
  • Familiarity with injection molded plastics, high speed stamping, plating, or electrical connector assembly & inspection.
  • SAP and quality software (Minitab, Gainseeker, etc.)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification, Shainin Red X Journeyman/Master, Lean Certification.
  • Ability to train others on continuous improvement methodologies & tools in a classroom setting with 5-15 students.
