Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is seeking an experienced IT/OT Technical Analyst, who under minimal supervision, will design, develop, implement, and maintain computer and network systems required to operate the Mill. A successful candidate will be a member of the IT support team and will be expected to work closely with the process control, automation, and other enterprise teams.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement projects that support the overall IT/OT vision.
  • Implement and support the 5-year technical roadmap.
  • Partner with corporate architects to implement standard, robust, and reliable systems.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity architects to secure Industrial Control Systems and enable the connected manufacturing enterprise of the future (Industry 4.0).
  • Work with Process Control and Engineering capabilities to deliver optimized communication networks for scalable and reliable automation.
  • Investigate, analyze, and correct complex issues, with experience or demonstrated aptitude for training on Industrial Control Systems (DCS/PLC) and process control software platforms.
  • Support various endpoints in a manufacturing environment.
  • Drive Operational Excellence with a strong focus on Safety and Value Creation.
  • Share knowledge about standards and best practices with other manufacturing facilities and identify improvement opportunities and system enhancements.
  • Understand and translate business requirements into value-driven actions, working both independently and as part of a larger support team to implement overall company standards in the IT/OT business and industrial controls environments.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • At least 3 years of experience working on network and compute infrastructure and or experience working with process/industrial control systems
  • Experience with...
    • Cisco equipment, Firewalls, Wireless Access Points and Controllers
    • VMWare and SANs, Active Directory, DNS, Domain Controllers
    • PC's, tablets and other endpoint devices
  • Strong interpersonal skills in supporting customers, communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to participate in a rotating on-call 24x7 support schedule
  • Ability to work in operating areas of the mill, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and lifting up to 35lbs.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field
  • Experience working in manufacturing facilities
  • Experience with Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell, FactoryTalk or equivalent systems
  • Experience with OSI PI, Kepware, RSLinx or equivalent industrial communications software
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC / DCS connectivity
  • Experience with PLC/SCADA and/or DCS hardware & networks
  • Knowledge of Cyber security best practices (i.e. Purdue Model)
