Georgia-Pacific is now hiring a Dust Hazard Prevention Technician to join our Lumber facility in Warrenton, GA!


Salary:

  • Our starting pay is $21.50/hr. or higher depending on experience.
  • You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the mill.

Shift:

  • Working any shift, weekend, holiday, and overtime as needed, with primary schedule being Wednesday through Saturday, 10-hour days.

Shift Hours:

* Standard shift - 7:00am to 5:30pm, 30-minute unpaid lunch

Our Team

Our team creates value by safely assisting with the production of lumber for our valued customers.

What You Will Do

  • Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures and actively participates in safety programs.
  • Assume role of secondary Combustible Dust Compliance System Owner (CSO)
  • Blowing out dust from motors and all catwalks/structural beams inside the lumber mill
  • Certify and operate an aerial drone safely inside a production environment
  • Rebuild pole saws and chain saws
  • Basic maintenance of A/C units
  • Install and replace air hoses across the lumber mill
  • Conduct air lead inspections
  • Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping at wash stations, main pump house, and compressor room
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ability to work safely with individuals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Must be able to move up and down stairs, ladders and work inside of tight spaces.
  • Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in an industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, farming, carpentry, construction, landscaping, production, or military environment.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Strong mechanical & electrical aptitude
  • Small engine repair experience
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
