Manufacturing Shift Leader

Georgia-Pacific is currently looking to add multiple Shift Leaders to our Packerland facility located inGreen Bay, WI.This role is responsible for planning and directing daily work for our hourly production team members. A successful candidate will lead and develop their team members to contribute to the success of our operations.

Two shifts are available for this role. A twelve-hour straight night shift on a 2-2-3 schedule that will include weekends, holidays, and overtime hours OR a twelve-hour rotating shift on a 2-2-3 schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime hours. With, a 2-2-3 schedule, you only work half the month, have a three-day weekend every other weekend, and will have days off during the week to attend appointments, save on childcare, or simply relax.

Our starting wage is determined by the skills and experience that a candidate would bring in addition to a $3.00/hour shift premium that will be paid out for all night-shift hours worked (6:15 PM - 6:30 AM).

What You Will Do

  • Facilitate team and employee development of hourly operations workforce
  • Foster employee commitment and engagement as it relates to safety
  • Drive and accomplish year-over-year improvement as it relates to productivity, customer satisfaction, organizational effectiveness, cost management, asset availability, and environmental, health, and safety excellence
  • Drive process & equipment modifications that result in improved product quality, reduced variation, and higher customer satisfaction.
  • Use critical & economic thinking skills, the challenge process, and collaborative team efforts to resolve issues and to advance innovation, efficiency, and safety excellence
  • Plan and direct work for assigned crew, hourly production employees
  • Oversee, manage, and evaluate employees' performance; acknowledge successes, address performance concerns, and assist in resolving complaints and issues
  • Work with the Performance Leader to ensure that the individual roles, responsibilities, and expectations are aligned with mill and organization goals

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or military environment
  • Two or more years of leadership experience with multiple employees in a direct reporting relationship which included performance and compensation management
  • Demonstrated experience improving existing work processes and leading change.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring employees to improve their knowledge and skills, as well as performance
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and guide a team of technicians.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Outlook

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Associate degree or higher
  • Five (5) or more years of supervisory experience with responsibility over direct reports within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in paper or converting operations
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience using Kronos timekeeping/payroll system
