The PMO Leader will work to build a team and discipline around project management that will engage with cross functional teams that design our optical connectivity products and the processes by which they are built. The members of your teams will include project managers with direct reporting relationships, and projects that engage managers and engineers from many disciplines (Mechanical, Process, Manufacturing, Test, Quality, Sourcing, etc.) from our NPI sites in the US and Taiwan. You will collaborate closely with our manufacturing sites in Mexico, Poland, China and Vietnam to execute the flawless launch of new products and managing the scaled production requirements of existing business.

The PMO leader will thrive on moving the needle to achieve business objectives & KPI's that will take Molex and our customers to the next level. Prefer candidates to be local to the Molex headquarters located in Lisle, IL but there is an option for the candidate to be remote with a min of 25% travel. Monthly travel to our headquarters in Lisle, IL, global design centers or manufacturing plants will be expected.

Molex is growing in the Optical Solutions Business Unit and is looking for a growth-minded person to join our team as a Leader, Program Management Office. What You Will Do

  • Proactively identify, document, and execute project plans and risk reduction activities to minimize operational risks associated with cost, quality, and/or timing
  • Own and develop macro production schedules and capacity to hold accountable the functional team members and production sites supporting these schedules
  • Develop a effective team of Project Managers that increase the on time delivery of projects for Optical Connectivity
  • Directly manage projects around Operational expansion in our plants
  • Collaborate with the NPI & Site Manufacturing Engineers to develop mass production processes using PDP (Product Development Process) guidelines. Drive a strong culture of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) mindset among design and process engineers.
  • Manage projects that drive the selection of the critical technology, manufacturing equipment & automation assembly to meet customer requirements and optimize the production process
  • Establish and implement team strategies, programs and practices to achieve world class manufacturing process
  • Develop KPIs that track project progress, production line performance and operational improvements
  • Actively engage with Product Managers & end-customers to understand industry and customer trends to proactively assess and manage capacity to needs at global facilities
  • Proactive engagement w/ Global Sales and Operations Planning (GS&OP ) ensuring materials & robust vendors base is established at production launch. Ongoing review of vendors & capacity to support on-going business growth.
  • Engage with production site leaders to collaborate in manufacturing initiatives that foster goal achievement for current and future business needs.
  • Share and present manufacturing strategy to cross-functions teams and executive leadership
  • Assess cutting-edge technology and trends in manufacturing assembly automation and techniques. Bring this state-of-the-art technology, as appropriate, to our production equipment to improve the manufacturing cost & utilization.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, business, supply management or related field
  • 10+ years experience as a program / project manager leading new product launches & managing operational KPI's including the management of multiple projects simultaneously, and delivering to agreed upon cost, quality and timing expectations
  • Experience working in a global environment
  • Experience leading Product Design projects with engineering and manufacturing environments
  • Experience with customer & supplier engagements & negotiations
  • Experience presenting to customers and business leaders
  • Willingness for international travel 25% of time
