Georgia-Pacific is now hiring an Electrical Reliability Engineer to join our team in Toledo, OR! The Toledo Mill is located within a 10-minute drive to the Pacific Ocean. Many outdoor activities are available near the mill including fishing, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and boating.

Electrical Engineers at the Toledo Mill have exposure to a wide away of systems such as instrumentation and controls, low and medium voltage motors, Synchronous motor and controls, D.C. motors and drives, VFD's, Steam power generation, low, medium, and high voltage switchgear, overhead lines, large relay protection systems, capacitor switching banks for VAR control, etc. Thorough knowledge and effective application of condition monitoring is critical for early detection of pending failures in these systems. The position also provides the necessary technical expertise to improve equipment reliability by evaluating and/or redesigning equipment and systems or through project management or capital project support.

This individual plays a crucial role in helping to maintain the facility's electrical reliability through design and execution of effective programs and strategies to manage risk and mitigate the consequences of failures.

What You Will Do
* Work to improve the integrity and reliability of all low, medium, and high voltage Electrical Installations, Systems and Equipment for the facility. This includes but not limited to reliability improvements by developing engineering solutions to repetitive failures and other issues that adversely affect plant equipment operations, project management and trouble-shooting roles.
* Support training programs for maintenance and operations personnel for safe and reliable operation and maintenance of plant power distribution system
* Lead or support root cause analysis "RCA" efforts in areas of expertise and report outs. Compiling recommendations and implementation/close-out and follow-ups
* Work to develop and track up-to-date and best asset strategies for mill electrical equipment. Support development and optimization of PM's for all the electrical equipment. Will on a scheduled base, revisit the active PM's and validate using sound RCM methodologies
* Assist outage planning teams with developing electrical equipment work scopes and execution plans.
* Provide knowledge of various codes and standards, safety rules, laws, regulations, departmental policies and procedures, governing the design and installation of electrical equipment and systems in order to support system design reviews and improvements, construction, commissioning and start up support, etc.
* Function as a Subject Matter Expert, SME, specialist for the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of complex or critical Electrical Systems and Equipment - Power Generation and Distribution, Transformers, Switchgear, Protection Relays, Electrical Switching, LV and MV Motors and Motor Starters, UPS and Battery Charger Systems, Variable Frequency Drives/Soft Starters, Electrical Actuators, Grounding Systems, Lighting, Cathodic Protection, Portable Electrical Equipment, etc.
* Estimate material and labor requirements for projects or assigned jobs, prepare material and contract requisitions in local CMMS system (Passport) for approval. Plan and lay out work in accordance with work requirements utilizing drawings, sketches, and manuals as necessary.
* Maintain close working interaction with the Maintenance groups along with other stakeholders such as Plant Leadership, Engineering, HES, Production, corporate C.O.E group, Key 3rd party contractors (OEM's, consultants, etc.), and Subject Matter Experts within Georgia Pacific to identify and resolve safety and reliability opportunities of the electrical assets

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Experience in electrical engineering in a manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of electrical safe work practices and understanding of industry codes
* Knowledge and experience with three phase electrical systems
* Knowledge of electric motors and motor controls and electrical protection schemes
* Knowledge of instrumentation, PLCs, and controls

What Will Put You Ahead
* Five (5) years or more experience in electrical engineering in a manufacturing environment
* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering
* Knowledge of relay coordination, arc flash hazard and short circuit analysis
* Power System software experience such as EasyPower or SKM
* Formal RCA training in software systems such as PROACT or AOD
* Previous experience working with Passport computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
