Hourly Rate: $21.65

*Bilingual Spanish/English preferred

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Use current and effective teaching methods to teach and instruct students including lecture, hands-on activities, and team-teaching tailoring instructional methods to the needs of the students teaching a minimum of 3 credit classes of the JAG curriculum in the assigned high school daily or every other day (if assigned school utilizes block scheduling to help students achieve personal and program goals).
  • Develop classroom lesson plans incorporating the JAG curriculum(s) along with supplemental materials, activities, and guest speakers to ensure students achieve specific JAG competencies.
  • Grade and record student assignments every marking period including evaluating students and awarding employability badges to students upon achievement of requirements for each badge.
  • Establish a positive rapport and working relationship with students, parents, the school district, funders, and community partners to formulate and implement outreach activities providing information and education for recruitment of students who would benefit from participation in the JAG program to meet program requirements or metrics.
  • Assess each student's educational and employment preparedness and administer required testing and assessments serving as advisor to the student-let Career Association. Conduct periodic case management meetings with each student to set goals and determine a service strategy and course of action to achieve established goals and objectives
  • Provide case management services, guidance, support, tutoring, and referral to other community partners when appropriate.
  • Monitor and maintain program and participant data and records including graduation rates, positive outcome rates, aggregate employment rates, postsecondary rates, full-time jobs, and placement rates through active and follow-up services.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University preferred.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience. Experience working with the targeted population.
  • Must have an appropriate and valid state driver's license and be able to meet requirements for Eckerd's Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes.
