Description

Stony Brook University School of Medicine of the State University of New York invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the division of Hematology/Oncology.

The Phillips Family Cancer Center of Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, a fully integrated site within the Stony Brook Cancer Center Network, is recruiting a medical oncologist/hematologist to join the Division of Hematology and Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the Stony Brook University Cancer Center in Stony Brook, NY. This individual's primary location will be the state-of-the-art facility located in Southampton, NY, with additional opportunities at the Stony Brook Cancer Center in Stony Brook, NY. Interest in clinical research and clinical trial participation is encouraged. Specialization in solid tumors including colorectal, and/or GU cancers is preferred; however, individuals with strong interest in hematology will also be considered.

Responsibilities and Requirements: Active participation in clinical faculty practice including inpatient, consultative hematology, and oncology services at Southampton Hospital. Active participation in clinical research is required. Contributions to the teaching and educational mission of the Division are expected.


Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
MD (or foreign equivalent). Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Board Certified/Eligible in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong interest in clinical research. Experience with teaching medical students, residents and fellows.

Tenure/Non-Tenure Track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. To qualify for tenure and/or a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure).
