Our adult outpatient psychiatry service is expanding and we are looking for individuals who welcome the challenge and satisfaction of providing outpatient psychiatric care to a diverse population in collaboration with a motivated multidisciplinary team of clinicians, educators and researchers. The Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry will serve as an Attending Psychiatrist in the Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Program. Responsibilities include direct patient care in the adult outpatient clinic including diagnostic evaluations, follow-up care, and teaching and supervision of medical students, residents and fellows. Stony Brook Psychiatry has experienced rapid growth in telepsychiatry with immense success. Providers will experience the gratification of being able to serve a variety of patients throughout the state of New York both in person and via telemedicine and engage patients that may not otherwise have access to psychiatric services. Shifts totaling 40 hours per week with hospital weekend/holiday on call if needed. There are also opportunities for clinical research involving psychiatric inpatient and outpatient treatment and in collaboration with other departments. Offering a hybrid schedule with remote days, along with outpatient office hours at our Riverhead clinic. The position will entail telehealth services (psychiatry OPD and integration psychiatry program) along with resident supervision. *Please note, the telemedicine policy could be subject to change by Stony Brook University and Stony Brook Hospital if needed.
