About the role:

Boston Scientific is seeking a Solutions Architect to join our Cardiology business supporting WATCHMAN. This is an exciting time to join us as we enhance patient outcomes through advanced technology.

The WATCHMAN Device is a one-time procedure designed to reduce the risk of strokes. The WATCHMAN Digital Enablement team develops digital tools for various external users, including patients, referring physicians, administrators, implanters, and nurse coordinators. We also support internal users such as sales associates, customer support representatives, marketing staff, and more. Together, these personas and their digital tools create a complex system of data and technology.

This role offers a valuable opportunity to enhance your business acumen, technical expertise, and communication skills. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the technical architecture, ensuring it aligns with our business objectives and the corporate IT enterprise architecture strategy.

This hybrid opportunity requires 3 days onsite per week at our Maple Grove, MN office.

Your responsibilities will include:



  • Collaborate with stakeholders, designers, and product owners to gain an understanding of the business area, current workflows, and operational pain points, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform solution analysis, conduct research, and work with stakeholders and more senior architects to design optimal solutions for new and existing systems that balance business and user needs.
  • Align proposals with senior architects and BSC guidelines and relevant reference architectures.
  • Produce solution proposals, including artifacts such as architecture diagrams, workflows, feature breakdowns, technology analysis, and cost/timeline implications of recommended solutions.
  • Collaborate with data peers to understand the flow of and access requirements to data for the organization.
  • Participate in the development of cost/benefit analyses and drive buy/rent/build analyses.
  • Present proposals to stakeholders and governance entities to gain alignment, feedback, and approval to move forward with execution.
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure they understand solution requirements and ensure vendor partners build products according to technical specifications.




Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field OR 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, Business System Analyst, or similar role.
  • Proven experience in requirements gathering, solution and option analysis, and providing recommendations.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and rapid prototyping.
  • Demonstrated experience with AWS cloud services, Snowflake and related tools.
  • Demonstrated experience with software development, DataOps, and MLOps.




Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:



  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including oral, written, and listening skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to quickly establish effective work rapport with distributed team members.
  • Self-motivated continuous learner, willing to share knowledge and skills with other team members.
  • Experience in highly regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with embedding AI into digital solutions.
