Garver is seeking a Transportation Project Engineerto join our growing team in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, TXarea. They will be mentored and trained to design projects, interact with the biggest transportation clients in Texas, and be exposed to various aspects of the work.
Responsibilities of this role include:


  • Serving as a Design Task Lead
  • Coordination with Design Team
  • Overall Plan Production
  • Estimating Quantities
  • Mentoring junior staff
  • Participating in Project & Client Meetings


Technical experience should include:


  • Geometric Design of Roadways & Interchanges
  • Experience using Microstation & Open Roads Designer
  • Knowledge of Modeling using Open Roads/Geopak/Inroads
  • Knowledge of Drainage Design
  • Experience with Construction Sequencing and Traffic Control Plans
  • Experience with Signing and Pavement Marking Plans
  • Locating and Identifying Utility Conflicts


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Two (2) to Five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Previous experience in consulting engineering with a primary focus on TxDOT transportation projects
  • Practical working knowledge of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Green Book, the Roadside Design Guide, the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), and the Manual Uniform Traffic Control Device (MUTCD) as well as TxDOT Design manuals and processes
  • Experience with Microstation, Geopak or InRoads and/or other roadway design software
  • Licensed as an Engineer in Training (EIT) in the State of Texas, or the ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office


Preferred Skills:


  • 3D Design experience
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas, or will have the ability to obtainreciprocity within three months of hire
