Senior Azure Engineer (Linux Required)

As a Senior Azure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing Microsoft Azure-based solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of Azure technologies and experience implementing complex cloud-based solutions. The senior-level Azure engineer is also responsible for mentoring and assisting in the troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, and ensuring optimal performance and optimization of Azure environments.

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing

  • Architecture Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable and secure Azure solutions. Conduct thorough analysis of requirements, identify potential issues, and provide technical guidance.

  • Azure Infrastructure Deployment: Deploy and manage Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage accounts, virtual networks, and databases. Ensure proper configuration, security, and maintenance.

  • Azure Integration: Integrate Azure services with other systems and applications through APIs, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, or custom development. Ensure seamless data transfer and reliable communication.

  • Azure Cloud Monitoring: Implement and configure Azure monitoring and logging solutions, such as Azure Monitor and Azure Log Analytics. Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot issues.

  • Azure Security: Implement and enforce security measures to protect Azure resources, including Azure Active Directory, Azure Firewall, Azure Key Vault, and Azure Security Center. Stay up-to-date with the latest security best practices.

  • Azure Scalability and Performance: Optimize Azure infrastructure and applications to ensure scalability, high availability, and performance. Conduct load testing, performance tuning, and capacity planning.

  • Azure Cost Management: Monitor and optimize Azure costs by optimizing resource utilization, implementing cost-saving measures, and ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.

  • Technical Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, such as architectural diagrams, deployment guides, and standard operating procedures.

  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and project managers, to ensure successful delivery of Azure projects and align technical goals with business objectives.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure technologies, best practices, and industry trends. Provide recommendations for improvement and contribute to the ongoing development of the Azure infrastructure.

Location and Travel Details

  • Hybrid position. Requires 1-2 days onsite to a Government Facility. Remote 3-4 times a week.

Security Clearance and Citizenship Requirements

  • Must possess a Secret Clearance.

Required For This Opportunity

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in Azure infrastructure engineering or a similar role.

  • Secret Clearance

  • Work Location: Hybrid. Require 1-2 days onsite to a Government Facility. Remote 3-4 times a week

  • Linux Knowledge: Proficiency in Linux operating systems

  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent security certification

  • Intermediate-level Azure certification or higher

  • Strong understanding of Azure services, including Azure Compute, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, Azure Database, and Azure Monitor.

  • Experience with Azure Active Directory, Azure Security Center, and other Azure security tools.

  • Experience with Azure Integration Services, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and other Azure development tools.

  • Experience with Azure cost management and optimization techniques.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.

  • Certification in Azure (such as Azure Developer, Azure Administrator, or Azure Solutions Architect) is preferred but not required.

  • Scripting knowledge mainly in PowerShell

Nice To Have Skills

  • Bicep

  • Knowledge of Azure networking technologies such as Azure Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, and Azure Load Balancer.

  • Familiarity with Azure Monitor and Azure Monitor Logs.

  • Experience with Azure Active Directory and Azure AD B2C.

  • Knowledge of Azure security best practices.

  • Knowledge in using vulnerability scanning tools like Tenable

  • Experience in using Endpoint Protection tool

  • Supports processes to obtain authority to operate (ATO) where applicable

  • Azure Automation
