Job Description:

Responsible for the leadership and direction of a specific operational team. Facilitates efforts to ensure excellent customer service on the team including the removal of barriers that impede excellent customer service as well as develop best practices in the department.

Scope

As a Transport Services Supervisor you need to know how to:

  • Review and update all Transport protocols as may be needed. Provide input to establish any new protocols that may be required.
  • Manage staffing schedule and brings any issues to the attention of the manager.
  • Provide first stage response for operational and risk management issues.
  • Oversee staffing distribution and hiring, prepare staffing schedule, complete employee evaluations and mentor, coach, train and discipline employees- Oversee monitoring of weekly staffing analysis to adhere to FTE budget and/or productivity standards- Provide training to all staff on new equipment or changes as required.
  • Provide quality review and performance feedback to manager.
  • Provide safe transport of patients between interdepartmental units- Daily rounding to departments for collection of empty O2 cylinders- Daily pick up of soiled medical equipment from clinical areas and transports to Central Processing- Provide rudimentary order entry into the computer ordering system- Provide transport of expired patients to the morgue area when Public Safety is not available.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain within thirty (30) days of hire, required
  • Three (3) year(s) experience in related/medical field, preferred- One (1) year experience in leadership, preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, sitting, speaking, squatting/kneeling, standing, and walking.
