As a Technical Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in both the strategic direction and tactical execution for a growing project at the forefront of digital transformation driving innovation and increased efficiencies within the Rocket Test Facility. This position requires a blend of technical depth, leadership, and strategic insight which will enable the team to support several parallel activities including dashboard construction and portal access, data management, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), computer aided design (CAD) modeling, internet of things (IoT) / digital twin framework, and a data analytics engine.

This position will be responsible for coordinating with AFRL/RQRO leadership, providing recommendations on strategic direction, and working within the LinQuest team to develop an implementation plan and roadmap to execute against the strategy. The Technical Project Manager will be instrumental in articulating plans, securing stakeholder buy-in, and leading the LinQuest team to achieve groundbreaking advancements in support of the client.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Spearhead the strategic planning and tactical execution across all project phases, ensuring seamless integration and delivery of solutions that align with overarching objectives.
  • Define and manage project scope, including tools, data sources, tasks, and deliverables for each project phase.
  • Liaise across various rocket engine test domains, consolidating requirements and fostering capabilities to bridge current technological gaps.
  • Lead technical discussions, strategy sessions, and technical debates to clarify functional needs and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Communicate technical complexities and project milestones to senior leadership effectively, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Oversee risk management processes and devise comprehensive contingency plans.
  • Cultivate an outreach strategy to promote strategic initiatives and articulate their value to the aerospace community and stakeholders.



Required Skills and Experience:



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Operations Research or a related technical discipline.
  • Data Management: Advanced proficiency in data management practices, encompassing data collection, storage, processing, and governance to support informed decision-making.
  • Digital Engineering Expertise: Familiarity with digital engineering tools and methodologies, including MBSE, CAD modeling, enterprise architecture, and digital twin technologies.
  • Project Management: Demonstrable success in managing complex technical projects, with a preference for experience in aerospace, defense, or related fields.
  • Strategic Leadership: Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of motivating high-performance teams and driving forward strategic initiatives.
  • Communication: Outstanding communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging effectively and frequently with technical teams, stakeholders, and senior decision-makers. Ability to generate clearly articulated program documentation for program reviews and contractual deliverables.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS



Preferred Skills and Experience:



  • Familiarity or previous experience working with the Department of Defense
  • Experience leading teams ranging in size between 8 - 20 members
  • Military experience: operational experience or experience performing military utility analyses
  • Experience presenting recommendations to senior AF/DoD officials



Compensation: The salary for this position ranges from approximately $125,000 to $190,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
