The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Missouri is excited to announce an opening for a Nurse Clinician for our inpatient service. The primary role of this position include: * Participating in patient and family education/consulting. Acting as a resource person for patients, families, nursing staff and other health care professionals. Developing patient/family education materials for assigned patient population. This can include speaking with consulting, or if we are consulting team, the primary team to coordinate care and provide consistent message to patient/family. * Participate in the planning, developing, facilitating/coordinating and evaluation of interdisciplinary patient care includes nursing and various clinical disciplines. Rounding with physician team as directed. Provide patient discharge education and follow-up, including requesting follow up appointment and place orders for requested imaging and update and complete discharge instructions. This includes providing appointment times, education with medication management, ensure discharge education and information is up to date for patients who have prolonged hospital stays. * Attend Multidisciplinary meeting daily. This meeting attendance allows each member of our team to learn our patient's daily plans of care and have an opportunity for discussion and/or clarification. * Working with inpatient team to update inpatient census with clinical plans and instructions throughout the day. Shift
Typically, 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday with the ability to be flexible when needs arise. Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Nursing or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be obtained is necessary. Two to four years of nursing experience in area of specialization is necessary. Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency withing thirty (30) days. Preferred Qualifications
Two to four years of nursing experience in area of specialization is necessary. Possession of a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri is necessary. Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $75,275 - $109,554 annually Application Materials
