Job Description

The Department of Medicine is pleased to announce an opening for a Credentialing Specialist.

The Credentialing Specialist role will support all aspects of the MU Health Care credentials verification process for medical staff, advanced practice professionals, and University Physician (UP) billing staff during the initial appointment and re-credentialing process.

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, and able to work collaboratively as well as independently. The ideal candidate must be able to work closely with other departmental and hospital staff, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, interact effectively with diverse personalities, have initiative and vision, and the highest level of professionalism.

6. Licenses
7. Collaborative Practice Agreements
8. Provider Enrollment
9. Maintain Credentialing Files
10. Miscellaneous Medical Staff requirements for providers
11. Other duties as assigned

Shift

Mon - Fri 8:00 - 5:00

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired.
One (1) year of experience confirming work history, education, training, background, and/or reference checks or similar experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with medical staff credentialing.
Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS).
Experience with the Joint Commission (TJC), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), National Council of Quality Assurance (NCQA), and Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) credentialing standards.
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $19.15 - $26.75
