Department of Plant Science & Technology

Job Description

The Division of Plant Science & Technology (DPST) is looking for a Senior Office Support Assistant that will support a broad range of activities within the department. They will act as the primary point of contact for faculty, students, staff, and visitors to the divisional office.

The key responsibilities of this position will include:

Administrative support for the Division Director, including calendar management and meeting scheduling, travel reimbursements and OneCard reconciliation, divisional supply ordering, and support of the division's Executive Committee.

Administrative support for the DPST faculty, staff and students - including distribution of mail and processing outgoing shipping and copier maintenance including supply ordering and billing for division copiers.

Answer the divisions phone line, monitor and respond to inquiries to the division email, and maintain the faculty, student and staff email lists.

Manage the DPST conference rooms and classrooms including scheduling, providing access/unlocking, coordinating after-hours access with the building coordinator, and providing AV assistance and training as needed.

Organize/support special events for the division.

Organize candidate visits for DPST faculty positions including travel, schedule preparation, seminar scheduling, on site logistical support and reimbursement.

Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Shift

Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing Outlook Calendars
Familiarity with MU Show Me Shop (or similar procurement applications)
Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $16.72 - $29.10 per hour.
