Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Job Description
The APP will practice independently in collaboration with a Pediatric Otolaryngologist in a fast-paced pediatric surgical sub-specialty clinic, with some time spent covering and assisting with inpatients within the Children's Hospital. Medical care will be provided to a high volume of complex pediatric ENT patients including diagnosing and creating independent treatment plans, recommending surgical procedures, and supporting postoperative care of all types of Otolaryngology surgeries. The position works closely with Pediatric Otolaryngologists, Otolaryngology residents and hospital staff to promote team-based pediatric patient care. This role will have an independent and active roll with the Pediatric Multidisciplinary Aerodigestive team and Tracheostomy team, support postoperative care for all Pediatric ENT surgeries, and provide preoperative education to families prior to surgery. Expectations will include mastery of multiple procedures including ear cleanings with microscopy, foreign body removal from nose or ear, comprehensive management and education, interpretation of testing such as audiograms, Xrays, and CT scans, and sleep studies. Master of Science in Nursing degree. Preferred Qualifications
Possess a specialty certificate by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB), the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), the Pediatric Certification Nursing Board (PCNB), or the National Certification Corporation (NCC).
