Requisition ID req30789 Working Title Counselor/Social Worker Position Grade 13 Position Summary The Section on Child Safety and Well-Being (CSWB), is seeking a Family Advocate to provide a comprehensive range of professional social services, psychosocial assessments, pediatric therapy services, and case management services for the CSWB Program. CSWB is a subspecialty clinic of the University of New Mexico Department of Pediatrics that provides expert integrated care to children with concerns for maltreatment. The Family Advocate's duties will include:
Successful candidates must have a sensitive and professional manner when dealing with agencies and families involved in the investigation of child abuse, child sexual abuse and sexual assault, and neglect allegations. The legal implications of child maltreatment, as it presents in a medical setting, requires that the individual have an understanding of the HIPAA Privacy rule. This individual must possess excellent computer skills including knowledge of all MS Office Applications (Access, Word, Excel, and have experience developing Power Point presentations for educational purposes). This individual must be detail oriented and possess organization and communication skills. Duties will also include calendaring/scheduling, answering patient calls, maintaining files, and other duties as assigned. See the Position Description for additional information. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or directly related field; at least 6 months of directly related experience which may include internship and/or practicum. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications
