Position Summary UNM Los Alamos anticipates hiring Temporary Part-Time faculty to teach online and/or face-to-face Drafting courses at the 100-200 level. This is a continuous recruitment beginning for the Summer 2024 semester. Positions are contingent upon the need of each semester as determined by student enrollment levels and current course offering. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Applicants hired from this requisition will be considered for the next requisition. Anticipated openings include the following subjects: Introduction to Drafting, Blueprint Reading UNM-Los Alamos is a two-year branch campus of the University of New Mexico located approximately 90 miles northwest of Albuquerque. UNM-Los Alamos emphasizes teaching excellence and offers academic transfer courses, as well as vocational and technical courses to the citizens of Los Alamos County and northern New Mexico. UNM-Los Alamos is seeking qualified temporary part time faculty members to teach lower division classes in various disciplines as specified above. UNM-LA instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they are teaching including but not limited to meeting with the class during assigned times, content delivery, assignment development, grading assignments, reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning as outlined by the Program Coordinator. Strong preference is given to candidates who reside in New Mexico and who are available to teach a face-to-face class at least once a week in Los Alamos. Wages Adjunct Faculty in the UNM LOS ALAMOS CAMPUS are currently compensated on the basis of their credentials and credit hour course loads, as follows: Credentials Rate per Credit Hour Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in a related field or 5 years' experience using drafting in technical industrial settings Preferred Qualifications: 1. Successful teaching experience 2. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities 3. Availability to teach in person at Los Alamos campus 4. Familiarity with AutoCad 5.
