Position Summary
PLEASE NOTE: This position is for the UNM-Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM.
University of New Mexico-Gallup Branch, Business & Applied Technology Division, anticipates hiring adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face and/or develop lower division courses (1000-2000 level) in the Summer and Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters in the following anticipated potential disciplines:
Beginning Keyboarding Business English I Business Law Business Math Business Telephone Techniques Business Professionalism Computers in the Medical Office Customer Service in Business Document Production and Integration Entrepreneurship Food and Beverage Service Management Fundamentals of Information Literacy and Systems Hotel Operations I Human Resources Management Introduction to Business Introduction to Computers Introduction to Food Preparation Introduction to Global Business Introduction to Hospitality Management Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint Introduction to Tourism, Safety, Sanitation and Health in the Hospitality Industry Macroeconomics Principles Microeconomics Principles Microsoft Excel Microsoft Outlook Microsoft Word Office Procedures Principles of Accounting I and II Principles of Management Principles of Marketing Professional Ethics, Social Media Marketing Tools Records Management The University of New Mexico established branch colleges to provide the highest quality of education for students pursuing post-secondary education at different locations throughout the state. Branch colleges respond specifically to the unique needs and multicultural backgrounds of their respective communities by offering community education programs, career and technical education including certificate and associate degree programs, and transfer programs that prepare students for upper division entry into colleges and universities.
The Business & Applied Technology Division at UNM Gallup Branch is seeking qualified temporary part-time faculty members to teach lower division classes in various courses or topics as specified above. UNM Gallup instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they are teaching including but not limited to meeting face-to-face with the class during assigned times that may include evenings or weekends, content delivery, assignment development, grading assignments, reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning as outlined by the division chair.
Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to the division chair.
Wages Adjunct Faculty are currently compensated on the basis of their credentials and credit hour course loads, as follows:
Credentials Rate Per Credit Hour Terminal Degree, plus 12 hours College teaching $1,058.60 Terminal Degree, less than 12 hours College teaching $1,016.06 Master's Degree, plus 12 hours College teaching $969.76 Master's Degree, less than 12 hours College teaching $920.95 Bachelor's Degree, plus 12 hours College teaching $920.95 Bachelor's Degree, less than 12 hours College teaching $881.92

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate or bachelor's degree in Business Technology, Business Administration, Information Technology, or closely-related discipline (i.e., Management, Human Resources Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, etc.) AND three years
employment experience in the field of Business Technology, Business Administration, Information Technology or related area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience
developing and delivering instructional materials and information in a classroom setting at either the secondary or post-secondary level or in a specialized training environment. - Industry-recognized
credentials. - A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success,
as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
