Position Summary

The College Enrichment & Outreach Programs (CEOP) is pleased to announce the opening of a Unit Administrator 1 position! CEOP supports the university's enrollment, retention, and graduation goals, by providing direct support to students from initial introduction and exposure to higher education through degree completion.

CEOP is an integrated department within the Division of Student Affairs that consists of 6 unique offices that serves all students, though a particular emphasis is placed on assisting students who are low-income, first-generation, from rural areas, and/or from backgrounds that are currently underrepresented among college students and graduates. CEOP is looking for an individual who is interested in joining a team of 15 full-time, professional and 50 student staff who are passionate about serving students with their transition to and through higher education.

The Unit Administrator 1 is the sole entity that administers all the behind-the-scenes processes that are necessary to allow each program within CEOP to perform at the highest level.

The individual selected for this position will:

  • Assist in developing and managing operational budgets, contracts and grants administration, and fiscal planning (budgeting / mid-year projections) for CEOP indices.
  • Oversee inventory within the department.
  • Administer payroll functions and time entry for all professional and student staff.
  • Process Departmental Awards, participant stipends, and mange Workflows
  • Manage internal administrative and human resource activities, including Labor Distributions, PHAREDS, extensions, separations, and hiring processes.
  • Review and approve expenditure requests and assists with program fiscal planning.
  • Contribute to policy and process improvement, operations, and strategic planning.
  • Assists and provides input on strategic objectives for the department; interprets university and departments policies and advises staff and students on their provisions.
  • Assist Program Directors in executing their programs, seminars, workshops, travel arrangements, special projects, and/or events.
  • Provide administrative support to the unit's leadership team in generating revenue through Grant Applications, Partnerships, and Contracts

This position is multifaceted and impacts many key performance initiatives the university promotes to ensure that students are successful. As a result, the ability and willingness to collaborate with other departments, academic units, internal/external donors, and other university stakeholders is essential.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of experience managing at least one of the following functional areas: fiscal services, administration and/or human resources AND 1 year of additional experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a unit with high volumes of expenditure and personnel.
  • Experience working with Federal Grants (in particular, Department of Education - TRIO) and familiar with EDGAR (Education Department General Administrative Regulations)
  • Experience working in a higher education setting and familiar with higher education technology tools including Ellucian Banner, Chrome River, TIBCO WebFOCUS
