Position Summary

This position will support two Health Equity and Social Connectedness for Older Adults programs within the Office for Community Health (OCH). These are grant funded programs in partnership with Aging and Long-term Services Department (ALTSD) with multiple contracts and MOAs between OCH, the funder, and external contractors and vendors.

Initiates, processes, and maintains records of a variety of complex fiscal, budgetary, and/or other associated transactions. Either direct or indirect support of accountants and/or unit management. Investigates and resolves problems related to funds, budgets, expenditures, and/or procurement practices. Provides reports and analyses on complex fiscal issues, as assigned. Helps in the development, implementation, and management of fiscal systems and procedures. Apply basic concepts, methods, and techniques. May serve as unit/area transaction initiator or requisitioner.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to use independent judgment and to manage confidential information.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications

- Strong team player and collaborator - Ability to
understand and apply University policies and procedures and Federal/State
financial regulations.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills. - Ability to
access, search, and navigate on the web.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and Word software.
- Knowledge of SmartSheet
- Experience working
with PCard, UNM fiscal policies, grant awards, and accounting practices.
- Experience preparing financial reports, statements, and
projections using standard and fund accounting principles,
- methods and applications on an automated accounting system
or spreadsheets
- Experience reconciling,
balancing and maintaining standard accounting records
- Experience preparing and monitoring budgets and/or other
fiscal tracking mechanisms using finance, accounting, budgeting and cost
control procedures.
