The
Division of the Center for Global Health, within the Department of Internal
Medicine, is seeking a motivated and experienced research scientist to join Dr.
Cassano's laboratory. Under the direct supervision and guidance of the
Principal Investigator, the candidate will lead research on the relationship
between lysosomal damage and stress granule formation. The candidate is
expected to work independently, organize and present data, contribute to manuscript
writing, and train new lab members.

The Department of Internal Medicine is a large, progressive
department with a diverse staff working in dedicated teams to provide quality
work in an organized, effective, and efficient manner through innovation,
training, and education. Through our collaborative work effort, we support the
faculty and enhance the missions of the department, school, Health Sciences
Center, and University.

Conditions of Employment
  • Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. Additional health screenings may be required, dependent on the nature of the research conducted, as determined by Employee Occupational Health Services.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in background in stress
    granule field.
  • Experience in cell biology field
  • Experience in
    publishing research related to stress granules and stress response
  • Good
    interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with collaborators
    worldwide
