Position Summary

The College of Education and Human Sciences' (COEHS) Research Office seeks applicants for a part-time .25 FTE (or 10 hours/weekly) Program Coordinator position to support the "I4: Increasing Instruction in Intergenerational IECMH" project. This project is a 2-year project that will develop a model of certification to build workforce capacity in infant and early childhood mental health (IECMH). Its goal is to build a training model in collaboration with community partners and faculty experts as an effort to provide a new area of study in IECMH that is not currently available at any New Mexico institute of higher education.

Under the supervision of the Project Investigator (PI), the Program Coordinator will be responsible for participant recruitment and organization, the project needs assessment, and planning and coordinating of included meetings, retreats, and conferences. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the following:

  • Oversees a range of specialized administrative support for the project
  • Serves as the main point of contact with internal and external constituencies for matters concerning the program's activities, outreach, and community participation.
  • Provide community outreach, program planning and implementation support with communities including organizing meetings, planning and workshop coordination, and maintaining general correspondence with all participants and stakeholders.
  • Coordinates and maintains communication with project PI, ancillary project staff, and project consultants regarding partnership activities with external communities.
  • Monitors, reconciles, and assists with fiscal administration for the program including: budgets, travel, and purchasing.
  • Coordinates the development and distribution of materials, reports, and communications to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintains records and assists with preparing reports and project summaries.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

The
I4 Project is set to end in October 2025. This position is a term appointment
with an end date of 6/30/2024. Two months prior to the term end date, the team
will review the possibility of a term extension for the remaining project year.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge or Experience working in early childhood field.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood, Family and Child Studies, or a related field.
