Position Summary

The Division of Hospital Medicine, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a Administrative Coordinator. The individual will be motivated, friendly and technically skilled. The individual will not only serve as a Liaison for the division, he/she will be responsible for:

  • Managing several faculty support programs as well as providing high-level administrative support to our leadership including the Division Chief, Section Chiefs and Unit Administrator.
  • The day-to-day support will include coordination of the accounting and budgeting activities, collection and tracking quality measures and support of contracts and Memorandums of understanding including coordinating faculty incentives and Non-standard pays.
  • Coordinating new initiatives related to faculty development and education.
    The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills with the ability to plan and manage project details independently.

The Division of Hospital Medicine is the largest division in the Department of Internal Medicine department. It is a division with high volume requests. The dynamics are diverse in nature, with a dedicated team working to provide quality work in an organized, effective and efficient manner through innovation, training, and education. Through our collaborative work effort, we support the faculty and enhance the missions of the division, the department, School of Medicine and Health Sciences Center.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, pay
    entries and prepare financial reports, statements and/or projections
  • Experience in finance, accounting, budgeting and cost
    control procedures.
  • Strong task and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with office technology and Microsoft
    programs.
  • Experience with standard office operations including;
    policies and procedures.
  • Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions
    and judgements on sensitive, confidential issues.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate special projects to
    completion.
  • Experience supervising lower-level staff to include
    performance management, training and project delegation and follow-up.
