Position Summary

The UNM Bookstore is seeking a dedicated, forward-thinking team member for the Course Materials department. The successful candidate will require collaborative skills, attention to detail, customer service skills, and an ability to adapt to the evolving Course Materials landscape.

This position coordinates the procurement and management of course materials and services intended for resale by the University Bookstore; works with external vendors and customers to determine product requirements and availability, oversees and coordinates merchandise orders, receipt, and return; investigates and resolves procurement problems and issues, and assists customers with specific product location and ordering.

This is a management position that oversees all aspects of student employees including hiring, scheduling, training and allocation of work. This position will also assist with the online order fulfilment process at multiple locations. The successful candidate is responsible for opening and closing manager duties, and some evening, weekend and holiday work is required throughout the year.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and SharePoint
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to learn reconciliation and reporting systems
  • 1-3 years supervisory experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience in researching and resolving order/customer service issues
  • Experience hiring and training student associates
