Requisition ID req25546 Working Title HS Research Tech 2 Position Grade 09 Position Summary The Bolt Lab at the University of New Mexico's College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is currently recruiting for a Health Sciences Research Technician 2.
This laboratory investigates how environmental metals such as tungsten, uranium, vanadium, and arsenic target the bone/bone marrow microenvironment to drive tumor progression, fibrosis, and immunotoxicity. The Bolt lab is currently looking for a Research Technician 2 to join our team to perform experiments in the lab, help train students, and perform lab manager responsibilities including ordering and lab organization and maintenance. This position requires attention to detail and ability to develop and follow written scientific protocols accurately and reproducibly. The candidate will be required to maintain laboratory records including lab notebooks, equipment logs, and internal purchasing request records and will organize data for presentations, reports, and publications. The successful candidate will have a basic knowledge of biology, immunology, cancer biology and scientific research methodology, the ability to collect and process research data, and to accurately record and report findings. The scope of the research consists of a variety of experimental procedures including tissue/cell collection from small laboratory animals (mouse), tissue culture, quantitative qPCR, ELISA assays, cytokine profiling, cell growth assays, immunoblot assays, immunohistochemistry, and multi-parameter flow cytometry. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications
