Position SummaryUNM Honors College anticipates
hiring Temporary Part-Time Adjunct Faculty to propose and teach undergraduate
courses in fall 2023. While open to any
number of courses, we are particularly interested in offering more of the
following courses:

UHON
301: Seminar, with a focus on literature and cultural studies.

HNRS

here: https://honors.unm.edu/academics/course-types/index.html

schedule here: http://honors.unm.edu/hc-course-previews/index.html

Although we need to
fill specific subject area needs, all Honors courses have an interdisciplinary
aspect, and we expect all courses to connect two or more disciplines, for
undergraduates of any major, without prerequisites. Further, teaching in Honors
involves developing dynamic interactive classroom activities, including perhaps
small group and whole class discussions since we do little to no lecturing in
our seminar style courses.

If you have
questions about teaching in Honors, please contact our Curriculum Committee
Chair, Dr. Chris Holden. cholden@unm.edu

Further
requirements include: Participation, where relevant for UNM Program Assessment
and NMHED General Education Assessment, in the assessment of student learning
outcomes for courses taught. Maintaining
records of student participation and achievement consistent with course
objectives and college policies. Adjunct Faculty are required to hold two
office hours in Honors per course per week. Office space will be provided.

Positions are
contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment levels,
current course offering matrix, and demand driven by graduation requirements.
Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for
students to drop or add courses. Candidates may be asked to teach more than one
section of a course and may apply to teach multiple courses, either multiple
sections of the same course or separate courses based on their qualifications.
