Student Technicians help staff with a wide variety of software in Computer Environments, which includes Windows. They provide basic troubleshooting of computer hardware, software, printers, scanners, audio/visual equipment, and projectors. Candidates will demonstrate excellent customer service skills in managing one-on-one interactions with customers. Should any issues occur, these students report to the IT Manager or Bookstore Manager. Work shifts occur every day of the week, though most often weekdays, and any time between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm at the main bookstore location. Responsible for bookstore production environments. Troubleshooting software and hardware issues, overseeing imaging, and triaging issues in our ticket tracking system. Proficient in basic clerical skills and willing to use work time to learn and expand one's knowledge. Applicants may also be asked to participate in additional projects, which may include the deployment of new computers environments and inventory, depending on skill set. May be expected to perform administrative tasks, such as surplus forms, inventory tracking, ordering of consumables, and user account maintenance. Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications 1. Exceptional communication and customer service skills with a strong work ethic. 2. In depth knowledge of Microsoft, Mac OS software and services (including operating systems and productivity software such as Microsoft Office). 3. Ability to evaluate and troubleshoot problems. 4. Willingness to follow directions, take initiative, and learn. 1. Previous customer service experience. 2. Troubleshooting experience with hardware, software, printers, audio/visual equipment, and projectors. 3. Familiarity with some of the following software: Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Products, Firefox, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 4. Familiarity with LoboMail, Help.UNM.edu, TechFinder, MyUNM, Fastlnfo, Learn, and general customer or technical support. 5.
