Position Summary
Organization: Supportive Housing Coalition of New Mexico Location: Las Vegas, New Mexico 87701 An Off-Campus Work-Study Position - MUST have a Work-Study Award Job Summary: The Supportive Housing Coalition of New Mexico is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role involves performing resident maintenance requests, turning units, and maintaining the exterior and grounds of our properties. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, collaborative, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Maintenance Technician is required to have their own tools.
Key Responsibilities: Resident Maintenance Requests: Respond to and complete maintenance requests from residents (i.e., minor repair to appliances, HVAC systems, windows, doors, etc.) Unit Turnovers: Turn units, including tasks such as painting and general maintenance to prepare for new residents. Exterior and Grounds Maintenance: Ensure the property's exterior and grounds are well-maintained, aesthetically pleasing, and hazard-free. Unit Inspections: Inspect "turned" units to ensure they are move-in ready before scheduled move-in dates. Waste Management: Empty dumpsters into the compactor. Notices: Post notices generated by the office. Benefits: Competitive pay Flexible schedule Monday to Friday schedule On-call availability Weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications
Characteristics: Self-motivated and able to work independently. Collaborative team player with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to complete grounds maintenance, work orders, and turnovers by specified deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience: Two or more years of maintenance experience or equivalent related experience preferred. General knowledge of minor building maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and drywall repair. Prior painting experience preferred. Valid driver's license preferred but not required. Basic proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English. Must possess and provide personal tools required for maintenance tasks.
