Position Summary

The
University of New Mexico School of Law seeks an enthusiastic individual to fill
the role of Department Human Resources Representative. This position will report
to the Assistant Dean for Administrative Operations and will serve as an
important member of the Law School Administration team. The ideal candidate
will exhibit excellent organizational skills, high reliability, strict
adherence to confidentiality on personnel matters, knowledge of current UNM HR
processes and systems, and an ability to work productively both independently
and as part of a small team.

Main duties
include: Under the direction of the Assistant Dean/HR Agent, coordinates
and administers a wide range of daily HR activities for the Law School,
including: coordination of staff and student employment transactions related to
hires, personnel updates, and creation of Salary Equity and Placement Tool
(SPET) documents; provides administrative support and guidance to hiring
managers on job postings, searches, interviews and hiring processes; liaises
with UNM HR on process/policy questions and stays abreast of UNM HR procedural
changes and requirements; ensures compliance with UNM HR documentation
processes and maintains departmental HR files and recordkeeping; may assist
with department orientations for new Law School employees and coordination of
training opportunities for staff, as directed; may also assist with support of
other personnel activities and administrative areas such as timekeeping and
payroll.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours; at least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Highly experienced
    in UNM HR processes related to staff and student employment
  • Knowledge of UNMJobs
    and HR Reports in Banner
  • Experience
    working on confidential matters and management of related documentation
  • Experience
    with Law School employment transactions is a plus
