Description

PROGRAM DIRECTOR, SCHOOL CONSULTATION SERVICE (SCS)

AT MCLEAN HOSPITAL

McLean Hospital, America's top ranked freestanding psychiatric hospital, is inviting applications for a 0.6 FTE (24 hour/week) Director of our School Consultation Service (SCS). SCS comprises a team of expert child and adolescent mental health clinicians dedicated to empowering schools, organizations, and their communities to promote the positive mental health of their students. SCS is a hybrid program with consultations and trainings primarily remote with in-person visits to schools and community organizations. Our program's administrative hub is located within McLean's Child and Adolescent Outpatient service suite in Cambridge.

SCS is committed to expanding the reach of evidence-based interventions for youth and eliminating obstacles to effective mental health support. We accomplish this by translating strategies we use in our McLean treatment clinics for use in school, primarily in Tier 2 and Tier 3 settings, home, and community-based settings. SCS presently serves school systems across Massachusetts from central Massachusetts to Greater Boston area, including the North Shore and to the Cape.

The SCS Director oversees the general operation of SCS and reports to both the Chief and the Director of Clinical Operations of the Nancy and Richard Simches Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

The Director's responsibilities include coordinating, supervising and mentoring a team of expert clinicians and monitoring the program's consultative activities in both school and community partnerships. The Director is responsible for the operational procedures, financial budget, and provides direct consultation to contribute to the team's internal capacity as needed. The Director provides lead interface with partnerships both to maintain extant partnerships and to grow new partnerships, and engages with many McLean clinical programs and departments, including Development for philanthropic expansion of SCS.
