Operations Coordinator, Genetics - Full Time 40 Hours
Description
The Center for Data Sciences (CDS) is a unique collaboration between the Department of Medicine at BWH (Division
of Genetics), Harvard Medical School, and the Broad Institute. The goal of the center is to foster interdisciplinary and
quantitative disease-oriented research. This individual will work in close communication with the CDS Director, Dr.
Soumya Raychaudhuri, to provide general administrative support for the BWH CDS, consisting of the Raychaudhuri, Loh,
and Korsunsky lab groups.
The ideal candidate has experience in administration within a research division and can multi-task effectively to provide
operations / facilities support. Having superb organizational and team building skills, and a commitment to working with
a group of highly motivated scientists and administrative professionals is a must. This position requires a high degree of
initiative and independent judgment as well as the upmost discretion and professionalism.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Center for Data Sciences
Responsible for the smooth operation of the Raychaudhuri lab including follow up on action items and other miscellaneous
activities. Bring to the PI's attention all matters that require his/her review and/or action. Keep the PI informed about any
staff issues in a timely manner.
Assist as needed with arrangements for seminars and conferences including travel
itineraries, reservations and deposits, employee reimbursements. Provide routine administrative support such as: typing
memos and letters, answering and transferring telephone calls, and taking and distributing messages.
Initiates Institutional Review Board and Biosafety Registration submissions for protocols involving human subjects
research and/or Human or non-human source materials and processes annual Continuing Reviews. Monitors study staff
to ensure they are compliant with CITI certification training.
Support required outfitting of labs by assisting researchers as needed with placing orders for
equipment, laboratory, and office supplies. Interface with vendors, manage orders, and liaise
with Accounts Payable and Purchasing Departments as needed. Process all check requests, invoices, and expense
reports in a timely manner.
Serves as point person with the CDS labs and Research Management Contract Teams including Innovations and
Research Management.
Facilitate and assist with the search and recruitment process for CDS faculty and onboarding of new hires.
Serves as a point of support for lab members on any administrative issues. Assists staff with any organizational/policy/
procedure questions.
Responsible for maintenance of the CDS lab websites.
Perform all other duties and assignments and special projects, as requested

Qualifications

Qualifications
Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's degree in biology, health sciences or related discipline preferred
2-4 years of related experience
Experience with the administrative aspects of a research project
Experience with Partners Healthcare Systems and NIH grants helpful

Computer proficiency required.
Careful attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize among many tasks, to work quickly under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, collaborates well with others.
Ability to demonstrate high degree of professionalism and discretion
Ability to prioritize tasks and set deadlines
Experience with Partners Healthcare System a plus
Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices and software.
Ability to take initiative and capable of multi-tasking
