Description
The MGH Institute of Health Professions is seeking an Associate Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students (AP/Dean). The Associate Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students (AP/Dean) provides strategic leadership for the MGH Institute of Health Professions in the areas of student services, admissions and other enrollment services, and overall student success. The AP/Dean is responsible for creating a dynamic, productive management environment for a diverse team of experienced student affairs professionals across several offices, including Enrollment Services, Student Affairs and Services, and the Ombuds. Further, the leader will advance scholarship that explores the student journey to and through health professions education. The AP/Dean reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and is the institution's senior student affairs officer entrusted with the oversight of all areas of enrollment management, student life, co-curricular educational programming, and crisis/conflict management. The AP/Dean oversees the engagement, recruitment, enrollment, and retention support initiatives and collaborates with other institutional leaders and teams to ensure a robust, diverse, and qualified student body. The AP/Dean contributes expertise and advocacy to sustain and advance student success; support a safe, healthy, inclusive, and accessible campus; nurture student leadership development and volunteerism; and ensure exceptional graduate outcomes. The AP/Dean is an important point of contact for students, faculty, and academic staff and leader who exemplifies the institution's core values and commitment to our mission. The key roles and responsibilities of the AP/Dean are as follows:
Serve as a subject matter expert and institutional advisor on matters related to student success, enrollment management, support and accessibility services, relevant regulatory issues, and the overall student experience Qualifications
Requirements
The appointment is expected to begin January 1, 2025, but the institution is open to explore an earlier or later start date based on the interests of the successful final candidate. About MGH Institute of Health Professions MGH Institute of Health Professions is a graduate school in Boston that provides entry-level and post-professional programs in Nursing, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Genetic Counseling, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant Studies. The PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences and a PhD and Master of Science in Health Professions Education have been added in recent years to meet rising demand for highly educated health care professionals, educators, and researchers.
