Primary Care Practice Medical Director- South Huntington, Jamaica Plain, MA Excellent opportunity for a clinical leader to lead a team of seasoned Primary Care professionals and play a pivotal role ensuring high-quality patient care and fostering equitable healthcare practices as Medical Director of the Brigham and Women's Advanced Primary Care Associates. The practice has been honored to be the winner of the 2014 Society of General Internal Medicine Quality and Practice Innovation Awards and is one of ABIM's featured practices in "In Search of Joy in Practice: A Report of2 3 High-Functioning Primary Care Practices. As a member of our management team, you would collaborate with dedicated professionals to advance our mission of providing accessible and inclusive healthcare services to our community. We partner with communities to seek health and wellness, working to eliminate healthcare inequities with an expanded care team that includes behavioral health, social workers, nurses, population health coordinators, patient navigators, community health workers, community resource specialists, high-risk RN case management, and support for virtual visits. Key Responsibilities: Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical oversight and leadership to the medical clinical team, ensuring adherence to quality standards and ethical principles. Collaborate with the Practice Manager and Nurse Manager to maintain high standards of medical and nursing care. Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic initiatives and policy development in alignment with organizational goals. Work closely with BWH Primary Care to implement strategic initiatives and foster community health efforts. Team Management: Recruit, hire, and orient physicians. Develop staffing patterns to meet patient care needs and promote a culture of trust and respect. Provide supervision, support, and performance evaluation to physician staff. Quality Assurance: Develop and implement standards for patient care, focusing on equity and inclusivity. Review patient care quality, laboratory tests, and ancillary procedures. Lead quality improvement efforts and monitor patient satisfaction results. Teaching Practice: Collaborate with Department of Medicine residency program to ensure that teaching goals and requirements are met for the internal medicine trainees that have their primary care clinics in the practice. Opportunities to serve as a continuity preceptor for internal medicine residents and Harvard medical students. Education and Training: Coordinate in-service and continuing education programs for medical and allied health professionals. Administration and Budget: In conjunction with Practice Manager and Nurse Manager, assist in developing annual practice volume, expense, and revenue projections. Collaborate on cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and outcome enhancement projects. Participate in designated Medical Staff committees. Qualications: - Minimum five years of medical practice and clinical leadership experience. - Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.). - Board Certified or Board Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician. - License to practice medicine in Massachusetts including MCSR and DEA. - Excellent management, communication, and leadership skills. - Ability to build and nurture healthy relationships and foster a culture of belonging. - Signicant administrative or clinical leadership experience. - Understanding of structural racism and commitment to racial justice and equity. - Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
