Bariatric Psychologist

Faculty Position Announcement

The Department of Psychiatry at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, an academic teaching hospital and affiliate of Harvard Medical School, is seeking a full-time, bariatric psychologist with expertise in weight management assessment and treatment. The psychologist will be based within the BWH Center for Weight Management and Wellness (CWMW) and will provide services across three integrated care programs including weight management/obesity, bariatric endoscopy/GI, and bariatric surgery. The department provides care to a diverse population of patients with high medical co-presentations and is a major teaching site for the Brigham and Women's Hospital/ Harvard Medical School Psychology Internship Training Program and Psychiatry Residency Training Program.

We seek an expert clinician who possesses outstanding clinical and education skills. Preference for candidates with the ability to assess and treat weight management and related disorders, and a strong background in cognitive- behavioral conceptualization and treatment along with behavioral medicine training. Responsibilities will include ambulatory clinical care and teaching/training/supervision.

Qualifications

Applicants must have completed an APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology, an APA-accredited internship, and be licensed in Massachusetts (or license eligible). Academic rank at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievements.
