As a UMKC employee in the Electrician trade, you will perform skilled work on a journey level, focusing on the installation, maintenance, service, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures. Your work will be subject to spot checks and inspections to ensure it meets specifications and accepted industry standards. You will engage in various tasks, including working on main switchgear and troubleshooting electrical issues in buildings across campus. Additionally, you will have the chance to expand your skills by collaborating with the Campus Facilities Department and other skilled trades such as HVAC, locksmithing, and plumbing. Each day on campus is unique, as you will work in a wide variety of buildings, ranging from over 100 years old to just under 2 years old, including iconic structures like Scofield Hall, which hold significant history in Kansas City. Anticipated Hiring Range
Pay rate for the position commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity. This position is eligible for a $1,500 hiring incentive (see HR-104 Hiring Incentives for Faculty and Staff). Application Deadline
