Schedule: Full-time 40 hours, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm. The Perianesthesia Unit Service Technician (UST) provides direct and indirect care to perioperative patients to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality patient care. Under the supervision of the Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse/Nursing Director the UST performs various clinical duties which facilitate each patient's readiness for surgery. The Perianesthesia UST provides a broad range of care and services to patients, including but not to limited to, EKG, phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring, completing EKGs, supporting Perianesthesia procedures within their scope, responding to medical emergency situations utilizing Heartsaver CPR and AED skills, patient transport and securing equipment and supplies. He/She will provide safe accurate transportation of patients. The Unit Service Technician will also assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice.
