General Dentist at Portage, WI Department of Corrections

Complete Mobile Dentistry, in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (DOC), is seeking a General Dentist for the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, WI. This position offers the chance to positively impact lives while working within a state-of-the-art facility using evidence-based approaches.


Position Summary

As a General Dentist, you will oversee the practice of general dentistry, monitor dental disease, restore and maintain dental function, and promote the dental health and well-being of persons in our care (PIOC). Duties include:


  • Conducting examinations and evaluations upon admission and at periodic intervals.
  • Performing diagnostic, preventive, restorative, periodontic, endodontic, prosthodontic, adjunctive, emergency, and oral surgery procedures.
  • Referring specialized orthodontic and complex treatments to community specialists.
  • Directing clinical activities of ancillary dental personnel.
  • Submitting monthly and annual dental activity reports.
  • Providing dental health education on an individual and group basis.
  • Maintaining dental equipment, directing infection control procedures, and eliminating biohazards.
  • Assisting the Dental Director in related duties when not providing direct dental care.

Employment Details

Interested dentists will initially work directly for Complete Mobile Dentistry for 26 weeks, with the option to transition to direct employment with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections at the end of this period if desired. The benefits listed below apply if you decide to stay on with the DOC.


Salary and Benefits
  • Pay Range: $89.81 - $109.28/hour
  • Probation: Twelve-month probationary period required
  • Benefits:

Work Schedule
  • Hours: Monday - Thursday and rotating Fridays 7:00am-3:30pm

Qualifications
  • Current Wisconsin licensure in Dentistry or eligibility for Wisconsin licensure.
  • Experience in general dentistry practices.
  • Ability to guide, monitor, and evaluate ancillary dental personnel.
  • Effective working relationships with associate personnel and services.
