Position Description: |
The Division of General Internal Medicine within the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine is seeking an Internist for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor on the Clinical Track. We are looking for applicants who: * Have a passion for ambulatory care and teaching (residents and medical students) * Desire to be part of a stimulating academic environment * Have a strong interest in professional development; our faculty members have opportunities to acquire skills in: * Teaching, both didactic and clinical * Quality improvement * Conducting scholarly projects We encourage and support involvement in professional society activities.Our clinician educators also have assumed important institutional leadership roles in education, quality improvement, and administration. The successful candidate will join a growing and innovative outpatient primary care practice located at the Iowa River Landing, a multispecialty clinic with onsite lab, imaging, procedure suite, and pharmaceutical services.Aside from providing comprehensive, coordinated, and evidence-based primary care to adults, our General Internists have opportunities to work in a thriving LGBTQ Clinic, a Weight Management Clinic, and a Post-COVID Clinic. The successful candidate will establish a full or part-time general internal medicine practice through a combination of faculty, same-day access, and resident-teaching clinics. Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related releasee and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.

Education Requirement: |
Candidates must have an MD or DO degree. |
Required Qualifications: |
Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. Candidates must be able to demonstrate outstanding skills in teaching, clinical medicine, decision making, communication, and collaboration. |
Desirable Qualifications: |
Previous experience as a clinician educator is preferred. |
